Georgia: A Recap

While Jamey was away on an eight-day work trip, Rose and I frolicked in the Lake Oconee area of Georgia with our family. Jamey and I are lucky to have parents that live within a 40 minute drive of each other there, so we spent some quality time with uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, great aunts and uncles, and even Rose’s great-grandparents. It was truly wonderful to see everyone and get some much needed relaxation time (and basically a summer vacation for me). Who can say no to big southern porches, a book (or occasional beverage) in the hand, and a baby in the arm? Not this momma.

We missed Jamey tremendously, but I have to say that if every work trip of his here on out allowed us to take life at a simpler stroll like this break did, Rose and I will be just fine. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably caught some of the trip’s highlights, such as these fools that my parents feed in their backyard, Rose’s two-month birthday (recapped here), and delightful dinners and sweet moments with family.

It is so good to be home now, but it was one of those trips that left me lingering for more of everything–family, food, and fun. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the visit:
