Friday, are you here yet?

Since it’s almost Friday and that’s all I can think about at the moment, I thought I would post to get my mind off the fact that my mom will be here tomorrow. Can’t wait for the weekend, yet again!

All this week, Jamey and I have kickstarted our revamped diets with a variety of healthy foods and dinners. (Based on our verbal reports to each other, it sounds like he’s been doing even better than me for lunch options. Everyone give him an internet pat on the back for staying strong!)

Since my mom is coming into town Friday night (Hello, Husk!), I can already predict our weekend will be full of wonderful, rich and local food choices. I hope she has braced herself for a yummy weekend!

In the meantime, here is a picture of our sous vide teryaki pork with a side of sautéed garlic spinach.

A homemade dinner is just as good as any night out.

By the light of candlelight, glasses of wine and my Valentine’s Day roses, it was a lovely dinner to spend mid-week together. These kinds of meals are always my favorite.

Now bring on Friday, my momma and Husk!

Restless Nights

So it happened. I had my first night of dreams about The Wedding.

These dreams were made up of a few sub-types:

  • I was late to the wedding and missed it.
  • I had too many drinks during the day and showed up to the church drunk. -Not sure how this would happen…
  • Couldn’t find my tux. -This actually resulted in arriving to the ceremony naked…

I suppose this kind of thing is normal when the wedding is a lot of what Claire and I talk about these days, but it sure doesn’t make for a restful night’s sleep.

A Pawleys Weekend

As predicted, we did spend our weekend lounging and basking in the sunkissed sand of Pawleys. What a glorious weekend it was.

Sunset on Pawleys Island.

It might be a little difficult for us today to get back in the groove, but work and the week calls. Lucky you who have the day off!

Still, it was a relaxing and much needed escape to the beach house, and I can’t wait to go again.

To the beach

It’s been a long week for us, so we’re doing what any sane couple living in Charleston is probably going to do this weekend: we’re escaping to the beach and relishing in the springtime weather.

This is probably how we will spend the majority of our weekend.

This weekend is our continuation of our Valentine’s Day holiday, but we’ll be sure to update you on our glorious adventures and meals out – when we’re not lying on the beach getting tan, reading and napping.

Happy Friday!
