Newlyweds

In order to serve our dear readers a little more assiduously than we have been lately, I’m writing a brief post to state that we’re home.

We’re home.  Continue reading

Crowns, cakes and showers of love

This past weekend was another trip back to Georgia, one for me to Atlanta and Jamey to Athens. Mine was…probably a bit more tame than his, so I’ll let Jamey be the one to go into details for you about that later.

My mom’s longtime friend Mrs. T hosted a shower for me, and it was one of those special occasions that my mom and I will both cherish for a long, long time.

Plus, I got this extra special Jamey doll!

What's that? You want to go to the mall and buy me shoes? Aw, thank you, baby!

Updates needed!

Man,
We’ve been doing the worst thing for a personal blog… not updating it.

Basically, the past few weeks have been pretty crazy and Claire and I have been very busy.

Here are a few reasons for it:

  • Claire has a new job! – I know it’s no secret around here that Claire is the driving force of this little thing and now that she’s blogging all day at work…
  • Jamey is lazy. – I know it’s no secret around here that Claire is the driving force for this little thing, and if she’s busy or distracted, I will also be distracted and
  • Claire and Jamey had their first wedding party event. – This was quite an event!

Here’s Claire shooting her first gun:

As you can see, she did not enjoy it. I had to finish her round for her. She also shot a pistol this day, but we don’t have a picture of that one.

  • Claire and Jamey had their Pre-Cana(Catholic marriage preparation\training) classes. – We just got back from a little jaunt up to Chattanooga to participate in the “Picture of Love” engaged couples’ retreat. It was great. Mostly, we had a great time visiting the Chattanooga branch of the Monahan family.
These are just a few of the activities that have yet to be blogged about.
Claire and I are going to go wander around the grocery store to find dinner and then we might just give you some glimpses into our lives together.
Stay tuned!

Happy and Giddy

Our weekend could not have been more wedding planning productive. (Yes, I did indeed find the dress!)

I am happy to share details with anyone who wants to know more. For now I am keeping mum – can’t have Jamey learning any other details that haven’t already been spilled.

Aside from dress shopping, invitation selecting, cake testing, registering…Georgia was, once again, a refresher. I was so happy to be home with family. Those little visits are like boosts of energy, and it’s only when we return to Charleston that we fall onto our couch and crash. (I can’t wait for our mini-beach vacation in two weeks when we return to Pawleys. I think that will be especially refreshing for Jamey, who is currently working a two-week tour to Northeast Pennsylvania. How’s the weather up there today, honeybunch?)

As we enter the shower season, I’m sure more of the wedding details will spill out over the next several months. I might have to get into royal wedding lip lockdown if I find myself blabbing too much, but it’s hard to keep a low profile now that I have even more reasons to get excited. I feel like that’s the general consensus with everything: to everyone, I find myself only able to express my excitement and happiness.

Then again, this is how it all should be. Everyone tells me this is supposed to be one life’s happiest occasions, and so far I do think we are progressing just perfectly along in that direction.

Talk to me again in September when the real stress of the planning is supposed to start to sink in.

Us looking especially cheeseball happy for all the right reasons. Also my hair looks good.

From belt buckles to wedding dresses

After yesterday’s somewhat somber note, I figured I should 180 the tone of this blog with a little sass from Jamey. We need to bring the silly back.

Therefore, today we bring you another round of The Internet and Alcohol Do Not Mix, part deux. Here’s a picture of the man model himself:

Bit the bullet and bought the belt buckle.

Yes, that is what you think it is: Jamey had a little too much Firefly and lemonade one night last week and bought himself a new belt buckle – made of bullets. Ridiculous. Continue reading
