I was celebrating my friend Cameron’s last weekend of un-married life. We thought it would be interesting to contrast them. After all, it’s not often we spend a weekend apart and this one definitely ran quite the gamut of differences.

Crowns, cakes and showers of love

This past weekend was another trip back to Georgia, one for me to Atlanta and Jamey to Athens. Mine was…probably a bit more tame than his, so I’ll let Jamey be the one to go into details for you about that later.

My mom’s longtime friend Mrs. T hosted a shower for me, and it was one of those special occasions that my mom and I will both cherish for a long, long time.

Plus, I got this extra special Jamey doll!

A Birthday to Remember

Last week, I threw a surprise birthday party in honor of Jamey’s 30th. In order to not understate the results of this event, I have to admit that it was pretty much epic.

As soon as I got home from work, Jamey and I hopped in the car and headed toward a mysterious location. I did a good job keeping this destination secret from him, and I have to compliment his friends as well for keeping everything under wraps.

We turned and twisted down familiar roads until arriving at the Maritime Center. By then, Jamey guessed we were doing a cruise; I confirmed, but he still didn’t know the full plan. Continue reading
